What's particularly galling, to me, is the megacorps that are paying millions of dollars in dividends to their shareholders while screwing their employees by cutting hours, benefits, and wages, and expecting them to do more with less, and do it faster.

What's the answer? Salary caps on executives? Dividend caps on shares? I wish I knew, and that business leaders had the balls to implement the necessary changes.

Although we've had to park around the corner a few times during the day, so far the crew has managed to put things back to a reasonable semblance of order so that most of us can park in our driveways at the end of the day. That won't last much longer.

It's all good though. Oddly, we're apparently one of the very few households who are treating the crews with respect and kindness. Apparently some folks are being downright rude and ignorant. WTF? Seriously? This work is about 10 years overdue. The potholes were threatening to swallow young children and small cars. Many of the services were being provided via lead pipes, or clay pipes. We're getting fixed up, and you're pissing and moaning?

That being said, I get the frustration due to the noise and chaos. But really, it could be a lot worse.

It’s Gonna Rain…Up. Since my new job is partly dependent on the weather (can’t easily take nice pictures of businesses in the rain) I had to check The Weather Network this morning, especially after hearing the rain pouring down at 3am. The flash has variable power settings, from 1:1 down to 1:128, and the transceivers allowed me to use the flash off-camera.

Since I was playing around a fair bit, I don't recall the flash power here, but it was likely around 1:64.

I was really trying to recreate some of the portraits I've seen posted here on G+ where the subject was lit nicely and the background was black. I didn't quite get the subtle light here, but it's nice photo of Bibo ("bee-bo") and it's #Caturday so I figured I'd share.

Bibo In The Spotlight While visiting with the family today, I was playing around with my new Yongnuo YN-560 III flash and my Cactus v5 transceivers. The flash has variable power settings, from 1:1 down to 1:128, and the transceivers allowed me to use the flash off-camera. Since I was playing around a fair bit, I don’t recall the flash power here, but it was likely around 1:64. Actually, this is the result of my semi-annual haircut. The joke in the house being I get my hair cut twice a year, whether I want it or not.

I'm not a vain person, and don't really pay much attention to my hair, until my bangs start obscuring my vision, or I look like Donald Trump on a windy day.

Still need a wash and a touch up. Perhaps a new profile photo is in the works.
