Angie is being a dunce. So, my wife made her a dunce cap. This is the trial run (which failed within seconds and has not been repeated).
Why the dunce cap? Because Angie, who is a rescued feral herself, is being a right bitch towards Cookie.
Cookie wants nothing more than to exist in peace, play with springs, zipper tags, catnip sardines, and Ikea mice. Oh, and to have treats and eat PC thick cut bacon. She keeps to herself, minds her own business, and occasionally suns herself in the window.
Angie will be laying in the kitchen window, see Cookie on the stairs and rush across the kitchen and up the stairs to rush at Cookie and force her into hiding. A couple of times she has even forced Cookie to jump from the top of the bookcase next to the stairs (a 7-foot drop straight down). This type of bullying is unacceptable. It’s even gotten to the point where Daisy and Weegie have picked up on the “game” and started rushing Cookie.
So, whomever attacks Cookie gets banned to the bathroom. Unfortunately this is not a suitable long-term solution, so we started putting a belled collar on the offenders.
This worked for a few days, giving Cookie fair warning when someone was on the move. Except the offenders have learned to walk quietly so as not to ring the bells.
So we decided to try humiliation. Hence the dunce cap with bigger bells. That didn’t work out. We’re still working on the issue.
Love Angie’s eyes in this shot, though.
