Our street is not a major street, but it is a bus route. They run down our side of the street only. And the street is showing the effects of decades of abuse and neglect.
Earlier this week, a two-man crew showed up with cold patch, slopping it into the craters along the street, including this cluster in front of our house.
Years ago, they would have used a tamper or a roller to make sure things were nice and firm. Not anymore. They rely on the weight of the passing vehicles to do the work.
All the gravel in the gutter? Yeah, that's last year's cold patch.
I took pictures this time around. Let's see how long it lasts.
When my wife asked why they were patching the road, the response was, "Because we were told to."

Yup and they said that phrase like they were brain damaged. To be fair…they may well have been…it was a hot day.
