Waning Orange - 11/52
My wife says I’m a full moon baby. Must be true, because I really like taking pictures of the full moon. Having obtained a fairly decent one recently, I wasn’t up to freezing my nerts off again for another one, I was content to wait until warmer temperatures (and a tripod) arrived.
But last night, the moon was starting to wane, looked very close, and had taken on an orange hue (gotta love atmospheric effects), so I went out on the to porch, tried a few angles and settings and ended up with a fairly decent shot. A few tweaks in Lightroom to return the colour to something pretty close the the orange I saw last night and I thought I was done. On a lark I zoomed in the image and saw that, despite the handheld shot with no image stabilization, I seemed to have obtained a fairly decent shot. So, I cropped the image mostly square, and voila!
