My wife crochets. When people find out, invariably there is the initial surprise, “You crochet?!” Shortly after that: “Could you make something for me?”
Generally the response is affirmative, which is not an issue, as she likes to do things for others, and enjoys the challenge and the dexterity involved. However, while she is working on the project of the moment, one of the cats tends to try to appropriate whatever it is for themselves. Eventually she relents and creates something for them. This is not one of those times.
This is Winston and his blanket. No, he did not wrap himself up, but defintely appreciated the comfort provided by the extra layer. This blanket was provided by a friend of ours, who also crochets. She and my wife get together occasionally for a “stitch and bitch” and Winston continually crawls in to her lap for some lovin’. She made this for him to keep him cozy when she’s not around.
While I generally try to provide my images straight out of the camera, I also recognize that I will never get every image perfect, and sometimes a little tweaking here and there can enhance an already good picture. In that regard, I tweaked the colour a little, and then blurred around Winston and his blanket to put the emphasis on him.

Winston does prefer his Auntie’s blankies over his Mother’s. That’s ok, the colour suits him.
Is their a better reflection of contentment than in the face of cat?
Winston is such a sweetpea!
Well done, Dion. This is a really lovely shot
Thanks! I have one of Belle on her new blankie waiting for you. I’ll have to send it along later.
